| ACA
8 (De La Torre)
A constitutional amendment requiring two-thirds vote of
the Legislature to place a measure on the statewide ballot
that would provide limited ‘Kelo’ protections
to owner occupied homes and small businesses. Provides no
protections for family farms, businesses with more than
25 employees, places of worship or rental property. Independent
analysis indicates loopholes in the measure that render
any reforms meaningless.
Status: Defeated! ACA 8 failed to receive the 2/3 vote necessary to pass off the Assembly floor.
